Berkeley Web Over Wireless Group
The Berkeley Web over Wireless project is designing an infrastructure for wireless access to information. This includes developing protocols for ad-hoc as well as fixed wireless networks. Our research is focused on three main areas:
- Wireless networks: IEEE 802.11, UWB, WiMAX, OFDM, Wireless VOIP, Network Planning, Network Management, Positioning
- Sensor networks: MAC protocol, Routing Protocol, Node placement, Data aggregation, Localization
- Data provisioning
Applications of this work include mobile internet access, communication for agent teams (such as networks of UAVs and automated vehicles ), and communication in sensor networks.
