Berkeley Web Over Wireless Group

The Berkeley Web over Wireless project is designing an infrastructure for wireless access to information. This includes developing protocols for ad-hoc as well as fixed wireless networks. Our research is focused on three main areas:

  1. Wireless networks: IEEE 802.11, UWB, WiMAX, OFDM, Wireless VOIP, Network Planning, Network Management, Positioning
  2. Sensor networks:  MAC protocol, Routing Protocol,  Node placement, Data aggregation,  Localization
  3. Data provisioning

Applications of this work include mobile internet access, communication for agent teams (such as networks of UAVs and automated vehicles ), and communication in sensor networks.
